Jill’s Tupperware Party

Edinburgh Fringe Review 17th August 2026

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

You’re greeted at the door by Jill and Jill, who hand you a small party bag filled with gifts. Once inside, everyone begins mingling. Thanks to the gifted name tags, you soon discover that everyone is called Jill.

Inside each bag is a conversation topic, and you’re encouraged to meet as many Jills as possible, using it as an icebreaker. Then the wonderfully weird Tupperware party begins.

The audience remains standing during the show, which may be uncomfortable for some. I didn’t see any chairs, although you can sit on the floor. At one point, you’re more or less expected to.

I won’t reveal what happens next in too much detail because I don’t want to spoil the surprises, but what follows is a series of interactive events with the atmosphere of a convention, or perhaps even a cult. These unfold over the hour, with some requiring more participation than others. The audience interaction generates a lot of laughs, and I mean a lot.

It’s all brilliantly thought out in a weird, trippy way that keeps you on your toes, quite literally. The party becomes stranger and more bizarre as it approaches its conclusion.

The show has certainly created a buzz around Edinburgh, and I can see why. If you’re a fan of immersive entertainment and bizarre, retro infused fun, this is a must see at the Fringe this year.
