Welcome to Wolfe in the Wings, an independent home for reviews from stage to screen.

I’m Tristan Wolfe, a performer, writer, director and producer, and I created this site to offer criticism that is honest, thoughtful and fair. I believe a review should engage with the work that was actually presented, consider what it set out to achieve, and never make the artist the punchline.

Here you’ll find written and video reviews covering theatre, comedy, cabaret, film and television, alongside occasional interviews and features. I’m particularly interested in original, independent, queer and character led work, although coverage will not be limited to those areas.

Reviews of three stars and above will be published. If a production falls below that threshold, I may offer private, subjective and constructive feedback instead, where the company wishes to receive it. Full details are available in the Review Policy.
